Period Care Beyond
the Uniform
The Period Uniform is only one part of what girls need to feel secure and stay in school. That’s why the initiative offers menstrual health support beyond the uniform - from practical workshops and educational materials to efforts that influence policy. All of it is designed for students, parents, and schools, in partnership with leading organizations.

Workshops and peer support
Poderosas runs in-person menstrual health workshops in schools, using interactive sessions to break taboos and build confidence. They also create peer-support spaces for girls, while involving parents and teachers so each student has support at school and at home. The result: less stigma, safer conversations, and learning that continues every month.
The school of menstrual health
Aliada delivers a full menstrual-health curriculum, not just one-off sessions. Through teacher training, pilots, and campaigns, they equip schools with structured materials and tools to teach menstrual health over time, so knowledge becomes part of everyday schooling, not a special event.
Family-centered support
Nutrinfantil integrates period health into wider child wellness programs through a family-centered approach. By uniting menstrual care with nutritional support, home visits, and family guidance, they ensure girls receive holistic help at school and beyond. Their work strengthens support systems so girls manage periods safely, confidently, and with dignity.
Validation and political influence
UNICEF Colombia strengthens menstrual health through data, research, and policy influence. They improve access to products and WASH in schools, expand education for girls and caregivers, and back solutions with evidence. Their advocacy and partnerships help scale impact and keep girls supported in school all month.
